The Advanced Smart Irrigation Company
Smart Irrigation takes the current Irrigation Controller away from a Preset Clock timer to a Smart Weather and Landscape based Irrigation System.
Clock-Based Controllers
Today’s Certified Irrigators utilize evapotranspiration to calculate the timer setting for your clock-based controller. This setting is a calculation that includes, Soil Data, Landscape Type, Landscape Canopy, and the Landscape Micro Climate (average weather data based on the hottest Month for your location). Your controller is then programmed to apply watering levels for the hottest month of the year. Landscapes supported by today’s clock-based controllers are over watered every month but one. In addition, the data is calculated on historical weather data and does not react to what the actual weather is at that time as we are rarely at average temperature and rainfall even in the hottest month of the year.
At GREENVIEW Technologies, the proof is in the yard.
Smart Irrigation Controllers
Smart Irrigation Controllers are controllers that either link thru an internet connection to several sites that provide 24-hour weather service or gather weather data from a weather collection device installed as part of your system. These controllers are programmed based on your actual landscape and differentiate between your shrubs, flowers, trees, and lawn based on your zone configuration at installation. The controller then gathers both available forecasted weather data and the actual weather results to calculate the precise amount of Irrigation your landscape requires for that watering cycle.
These systems Monitor and gather all aspect of the weather including, Rainfall Amounts, Temperature, Humidity, and Wind Speeds. When configured properly these systems will adjust your Irrigation Water Time or even suspend a watering event based on the actual weather data.
In addition to monitoring the actual weather impact to your landscape, these systems also gather performance data from your Irrigation System thru Irrigation Water Meters, flow sensors, and other diagnostics that we install thru out your Irrigation Systems. The Water Meter enables GREENVIEW and your Controller to monitor each watering event and alerts GREENVIEW to Leaks, Zone Malfunctions, and Electrical Issues. GREENVIEW can remotely evaluate the alarm and make the necessary adjustments without visiting your home and if needed shut down individual zones or in many cases your entire system in the event of a detected leak while clearly identifying the issue and its location, saving on-site visits and troubleshooting time for your Irrigation Technician. Irrigation issues are no longer detected by stressed or dying Landscapes, saving the cost of replacing wilted lawn or landscape damage.
These Controllers provide reports that GREENVIEW utilizes to calculate the total water applied to a landscape combining actual rainfall amounts and the metered irrigation flow amounts. GREENVIEW is able provide to all your landscape professionals actual water data and support interpreting that data enabling more affected Landscape Care with Huge reductions in Pesticide Usage and costs.
